About The Bombay With a sleek, glossy black coat and glowing eyes, Bombays resemble little house panthers in patent leather. These lively cats were originally developed by crossing black American Shorthairs and Burmese, and they have retained the best of both worlds.

Bombay have the clownish streak of their American roots with the vivacious personalities of the Burmese. Bombays are somewhat more active than their Burmese parent breed. They truly love people and pets alike, and although they can be a bit bossy, they are also easy to train.
Did You Know? Many Bombays are burrowers and enjoy nesting in discarded clothing, under covers, or anywhere they can find a warm place to snuggle down. Be careful sitting down if you don't know who's behind the couch cushions!
