About The Colorpoint Shorthair The Colorpoint Shorthair is a Siamese in all but color. While Siamese are accepted in only four colors and patterns -- seal, chocolate, blue, and lilac point -- Colorpoint Shorthairs are found in red, cream, lynx (tabby), and tortie points.
Colorpoint Shorthairs depend on companionship and must have at least one active playmate to keep them company when humans can't be around. They love to engage with their humans in every way, from having "conversations" to showing off their latest tricks to cuddling under a comforter with them. Colorpoints are very food-oriented and will steal (or search for) unattended treats, even if they're "unattended" inside a cupboard or drawer. Fortunately, their high energy and activity means they often run off those extra calories. Like all Siamese-type breeds, Colorpoints are prone to dental problems, so this must be monitored closely.
