Description

The Kurilian Bobtail, also known simply as the Kurilian or as the Curilsk Bobtail, is a new and rare breed of cat. It is a naturally-occurring breed in the Kuril islands, an island chain running between Japan and Russia. Because the Kuril islands are under the jurisdiction of Russia, this breed is considered a Russian breed and is being developed primarily in that country, although the breed is migrating to other shores.

The Kurilian Bobtail is a square-built, muscular, wild-looking cat with slightly raised hindquarters. The tail that is short and/or kinked, similar to that of a Japanese Bobtail. Coat length can be short to medium-long.

Associations: The Kurilian is currently accepted in WCF.
