Himalayan kittens are docile, calm, and affectionate companions, like their Persian parent breed. Himalayan breeders focus on the colorpoint varieties, such as seal, chocolate, blue, lilac, flame, cream, tortie, and lynx point. Himalayans are actually a color division of Persian. Himalayan kittens are born white and develop their colorpoints slowly, starting at the nose and ends of paws, sometimes making it difficult for Himalayan breeders to discern their adult color. Himalayans have a strict requirement for daily grooming to keep their long coats free of painful mats.
