Notes: Jazz is picked on by some of the other cats, and this causes her to urinate inappropriately around the house - when separated from the other cats, she faithfully uses the box. Jazz needs a quiet home with no other cats or only one other non-dominant cat. She is very affectionate but a bit shy. She's just had her teeth cleaned and is in excellent health. Jazz has a shorter coat than most Somalis and doesn't require much grooming. I believe she will blossom in an environment where she isn't being picked on. Jazz is a PK affected cat - she has 2 mutant genes that can cause Pyruvate Kinease Deficiency, which is a type of anemia. At nearly 5 years old, Jazz has never had a below-normal PCV test (Packed Cell Volume, indicator of anemia), nor any signs of anemia. She is under stress at my house, but even so has never been anemic. Since stress can be a major factor in the anemia, a quiet home without constant small children or lots of pets would be best. Children who only visit would be fine. I have placed 2 other PK affected cats in a home together, and at 4 years old they still have not had the anemia, so I have high hopes that Jazz will live a long, healthy life in the right environment.

Notes: Huckleberry is a sweet boy who loves attention and gives lots of kisses and loves to sit in laps. He is quite shy with strangers. As an intact male, he lived in the bathroom for 2 years, and now that he is neutered the other cats will pick fights with him so he is still isolated. A new home should have non-dominant cats only. Huck has a bit of problem with loose stools and an allergy to foods containing corn. He is in good health and would love a home where he can get lots of attention.

Notes: Mia is a beautiful blue Somali. When the older cats in her family passed away, her family brought in a new kitten and Mia was so unhappy and started attacking the kitten, which is now terrified of her. The two cannot be allowed together. Mia is looking for a home where she can be the only cat. She likes to play with interactive toys but is not a busy cat. She loves to look out the window and watch the birds. Please help Mia by finding her a forever home where she can be the only cat.
