Photo Cat's registered name: PR Sadakat's Fulin of Sinend

Home preferences: Adults-only household. No other pets in household.
Homepage where cat can be seen: http://www.sinend.us
Notes: This is a beautiful cat with the potential to be an incredible, loving pet. When in a one on one situation with humans, she is exceptional and affectionate. However, she cannot be in a home with other pets, due to fear aggression. I would require her home to also be with someone who has previously owned a cat or had cat experience, to have someone who has a good sense of the signals cats send in fearful situations. She loves to give kisses to humans, to the point of your skin being rasped. We suspect she may have a minor neurological disorder, which doesn't affect her as far as any medication, but she's a little clumsy and it might be the cause of her aggression issues. (To diagnose this requires very expensive testing and frankly wouldn't matter, because it's not something that can be treated or cured.) We have tried Buspar (an antianxiety medication) with negiligible results, but it might be worth trying again. She has a unique self-awareness of her issues, and so long as she has access to a "safe" place she is doing great. For example, our spare bedroom is her safe place. When she gets upset with the other cats, instead of becoming aggressive to me, she runs to the bedroom to have a "time out." You just have to remember that when she is afraid, she is a cat that gets aggressive, and if you respect that (not forcing her and providing a safe place) she's fantastic, she just loves people. It may sound crazy to have an unpredictably aggressive cat as a pet, but honestly - one on one this is one of the most affectionate and wonderful pets we've created. She just will need a particular owner who can work to lower her triggers, and get her an environment where she can thrive.

[Additional note from FBRL Site Owner: I also have a sweet cat with fear aggression who lives very successfully with three other cats. He also relies on his "safe place" for escape, and he's fine as long as you let him escape when he needs it. I have found Feliway to be incredibly helpful in his case. -Barb]

Photo Cat's registered name: Sadakat's Turkish Delight
Cat's call name: Bug
Breed: Turkish Angora
Color: Amber Eyed White
Date of Birth (mm/dd/yy): 04/12/2006
Sex: Female; spayed
Pet or show quality? Pet
Registered with: CFA
Cat's location: Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania
Will the breeder ship the cat? No
Home preferences: No younger children (0-5); older children OK. 1 or 2 other cats OK; dogs OK.
Homepage where cat can be seen: https://sites.google.com/site/sinendta/home/available
Notes: Bug is an example of our outcross program, as she is out of a male from Turkey. That makes her a little bigger than the normal show TA, with a very moderate head. She is a really laid back love, she does tend to get picked on by other cats, so we'll talk through that with any potential new owners. She is very much a lap cat who loves tummy rubs; she is a bit larger so she isn't as likely as other Turks to jump on top of your refrigerator or doors.
