Description

The Serengeti is a hybrid breed created to resemble a Serval cat. The breed has used Bengals and Oriental Shorthairs primarily to create the look; although they are made to resemble Servals, the breed has no Serval blood and no Servals have been used at any point in their breeding programs.

They are currently accepted in only four colors: brown spotted, silver spotted, black smoke, and solid black. The standard calls for a medium-sized, sturdy cat, large conical ears, expressive round eyes, a tubular body and long legs. Ideal Serengetis are outgoing, alert, and

A new breed, the Serengeti is under development both in the United States and UK. Availability is likely to remain limited for some time.

Associations: The Serengeti is accepted for Preliminary New Breed status by TICA.
