Description

Seychellois are an Oriental-type cat found in three color patterns, all bicolor and each describing a varying degree of color on the body, head, and tail in relation to the white:

Seychellois neuvime has the least amount of color, restricting it only to the tail and small patches on the head, similar to that of a Turkish Van.

Seychellois septieme allows for color on the tail and head, with some small patches allowed on the body.

The most color is allowed on the Seychellois huitieme, where large patches of color may appear.

There are only a small handful of Seychellois breeders worldwide.

The Seychellois personality is similar to that of other Oriental-type cats: lively, energetic, overtly affectionate, and outgoing.

Associations: The breed was developed in the 1980s. The Seychellois breed is accepted by FIFe and provisionally by TICA. In most associations it is a color pattern rather than a separate breed. They would be considered bicolor Oriental Shorthair or Oriental Longhair.
