About The Snowshoe Snowshoes were originally created by crossing Siamese and American Shorthairs, producing a sturdy colorpointed cat with the distinctive white feet that give the Snowshoe its name. They are breed in the usual four Siamese colors in two patterns, mitted and bicolor. It is also accepted in red, cream, cinnamon, and fawn colors.
Snowshoes combine the best traits of their parent breeds, and can be a great choice for people who love the Siamese colorpoints combined with a more mellow, laid-back personality. While vocal, their voices are soft and melodic. They are lively, affectionate, and fun-loving cats. Though they can be initially reserved with strangers, they are thoroughly devoted to their families and are good with both children and other pets.
