About The American Curl A native breed of the United States, the American Curl is distinguished by its unusual, backward-swept curling ears. This is the result of a natural mutation. It is a medium-sized cat bred in both shorthair and longhair varieties in a wide range of colors and patterns.
American Curls are faithful companions who remain kittens at heart. They love head-butts, giving kisses, and constantly checking up on "their" humans. They are boistrous but even-tempered, taking every situation as it comes with curiosity and good humor. Curls have tiny, trilling voices they use only rarely, preferring body language to too much talking.
Did You Know? American Curls are both with straight ears. The curl begins to develop a few days after birth, and continue to change right up through 16 weeks of age.
