About The Burmese Most associations accept Burmese only in the traditional four colors of sable, champagne, blue, and platinum. They are a compact cat with a sleek, glossy coat and lovely, bright-eyed expression.

Burmese are intelligent, playful cats who thrive on attention, but can self-amuse when necessary. Good for families of all ages, Burmese are not one-person cats and know how to work a room. They get along well with other pets, although female Burmese can be somewhat dominant and may have trouble with another bossy pet in the house. Burmese mellow out in adulthood, but remain playful and active well into old age.
Did You Know? Burmese are deceptively heavy for their size due to their dense muscularity. Lifting a Burmese is often described as picking up a soft, furry brick.
