About The Turkish Angora Turkish Angoras are long-bodied, small cats with long, fine, silky coats and upright, perky ears. Although white is the most well-known color, Turkish Angoras are bred in a wide variety of colors and patterns.
Be prepared to live with a furry shadow -- Turkish Angoras love to follow their people around and help with everything they do. They're athletic acrobats who enjoy getting up high, on top of cabinets, bookcases, anywhere they can get a lofty perch to supervise goings-on. They are intelligent cats who can learn to open drawers and cabinets, so child locks may become necessary.
Did You Know? This ancient breed really does originate in Turkey, and some breeders still import cats from Turkey for their breeding programs. While they remain a relatively rare breed today, Turkish Angoras were used as early foundation stock for may other breeds that exist today.
